What is Speed of Writing in Graphology?<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Graphology, speed is the quickness with which strokes are performed.<\/strong> This expresses the way in which the individual gets around in life. If he does it with a certain quickness or if he needs to take long and frequent pauses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speed or quickness in writing is one of the aspects that are used to infer the intellectual characteristics and the type of cognitive processes<\/strong> used to understand reality and resolve the situations that arise. Each individual writes with a particular graphical speed. It is expected that a text is started with a certain speed and then this is kept relatively stable until the end. If we translate this into the cognitive level, speed implies the quickness with which information is processed and the way to resolve unforeseen events or situations. It is possible to deduct the speed with which a text is executed. When analyzing speed, it is essential to detect in which zone or zones the individual projects this dynamism (or slowness), if done from the intellectual sphere in the superior area, from the affective-emotional area in the middle area or from the instinctive sphere in the inferior area. The graphical speed acquires a perceptible value, since it is an indicator of compatible symptoms with disorders, physical and psychological pathologies.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Speed of Writing related to?<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In order to complement the study of graphical speed, we refer to graphical tension and its cadences, continuity and cohesion of writing and to the linear displacement of lines and words (direction). <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speed is related to the mobility. Therefore, it reflects organic and physiological aspects of the individual, expressing his vital state and keeping relationship with the temper and character. It responds to all variations of rhythmic frequency of the body, picks up information of the nerve system of the individual that sits for the graphological test. The speed of the strokes is related to the speed of mental processes, comprehension, reflection level, intuition and logics of the individual.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The writing speed is related to the level and type of activity of the individual, his performance at work under pressure (effectiveness and efficiency) and resolution time, ability for action and reaction, speed in the tasks he is assigned, either manual or intellectual. Ability to find solutions depending on the given situation, resistance to change, stability for task continuity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

The degree of social adjustment is expressed in the sense of progression or regression of the strokes. The type of conduct is noticed: (Spontaneous and flexible or rigid and inflexible) in the speed together with cohesion and graphical tension. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The degree of intro-extroversion, the ability for relating with others, the existence of self-control, impulse self-control. The attitude of people towards interpersonal bonds may be of several types, from controlled attitudes to hyper-controlled, rigid and intransigent to impulsive, loaded of aggression and violence.
